The yoga sessions are gentle and restorative, positive and uplifting, conducive to intention setting, mind expansion and raising consciousness. We are fortunate to have the dynamic duo of Lindsay Shaw and Isaac Dann conducting the yoga sessions. Lindsay is radiant and full of positive energy that she brings to the mat, elevating her yoga students. Isaac, a gifted musician, translates his energy through song as he serenades each session.

There are many forms of meditation and during this retreat we will explore meditation through writing and art as we create an Intention Journal. We will begin with “Morning Pages”—a stream of consciousness writing used to clear the mind and release negative thoughts and feelings. They are also a tool to stimulate thoughts and creativity.
The art activities are designed for those that may feel they are “non-artistic”—requiring only an open mind and basic motor skills. I believe if you can write, you can create art. Working in layers with color, text and images, we will work intuitively, building trust and delight in our creative choices. At the end of the retreat we will all have a beautiful journal and tools and cues to continue working in them each day. Jeriann Sabin is a working artist and experienced teacher. She has been bringing art to children and adults for over thirty years in public and private institutions. She served as an Artist in Residence for the Idaho Commission on the Arts taking art to underserved communities for many years. She also teaches yoga. (For more information about Jeriann, please click here.)
All of the meals during our weekend retreat are vegetarian, planned and prepared to enhance your total mind/body/spirit experience. Meals are dairy free and gluten free with vegan options for breakfasts and the main meals can be adapted to be vegan, gluten free and free of dairy as well. Fresh fruits, nuts and vegetables will be available throughout the retreat as well as coffee, tea, sparkling fruit beverages and juice shots. We suggest an alcohol free weekend to further cleanse and rejuvenate your entire self during the retreat. Our chef, Sara Ihrie, will assemble all of the meals onsite. Sara attended Quillisascut Farm School of the Domestic Arts and completed an internship at The Silk Road, a tapas-style global cuisine restaurant. She loves nourishing people and believes that good food is an avenue toward deep connections with self and others.
The Harkness Hotel is our retreat venue. It is a luxury boutique hotel created in what was once the McCammon State Bank. Built in 1906 the building is listed on the National Historic Registry. Beautiful historic details are preserved throughout the hotel, including eleven-foot ceilings, eight-foot arch-top windows, two large skylights and original wood floors, moldings and doors. Period photographs and newspapers are displayed throughout and some of the furniture was constructed of original lumber salvaged during construction. (For more information on the Harkness Hotel, please click here.)
The entire hotel is reserved for our retreat but it is a small boutique hotel. In an effort to make this experience not only meaningful and beautiful but affordable registration is based on multiple-occupancy. The most affordable option is actually sharing a bed so encourage your spouse, partner or BFF to join you. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preference but our options are limited, so gather your friends and make your reservation early.
Time is set aside each evening for quiet reflection, work in your journals, meditation or a trip to Lava Hot Springs. The natural spring hot pools are a quick ten minutes from our venue. You have enough time to slip over to Lava and relax in the pools if you wish and return in time for a guided meditation each evening before sleep. (For more information about Lava Hot Springs, please click here.)
